Made out of continuous threads that are interlaced, sewn and knotted, Simona Iannini’s ‘tombolo aquilano’ lace requires over 100 hours of expert workmanship. Once the bag is completed, the unlined lace is starched using an ancient technique and left to dry on a wooden form to create its destinctive shape.
